SimpsInns is one of Ayrshire’s leading, family-owned hospitality groups and was crowned ‘Hospitality and Tourism Business of the Year 2025’ at the recent Ayrshire Chamber of Commerce Business Awards.

The annual awards showcase the region’s best businesses and recognise their ongoing success across a range of sectors. The ‘Tourism Business of the Year’ category celebrates excellence in Ayrshire’s hospitality and tourism sector.

The Irvine-based Simpson family is the driving force behind SimpsInns, which owns and operates a collection of award-winning hotels, restaurants, bars, spa, golf, and leisure destination along the Ayrshire coast, including The Gailes Hotel & Spa, The Waterside Hotel & Spa, The Loans Inn, Si! and Gailes Golf:Leisure

Simpsons highlighted the ongoing projects that are tasking place across the group as the owners continually reinvest in their product.

“Sustained investment has been a key strategy for the growth of Simpsinns over the last three years, with over £4 million invested across the group. We’re committed to enhancing the quality of the guest experience across the group in 2026.”

SimpsInns recently opened a new 17-bedroom extension and enhanced wedding facilities at The Waterside Hotel in West Kilbride. The renowned venue is also in the final stages of a new sea view spa development, including indoor relaxation area, sauna with sea views, steam room, spa lounge and large outdoor area with experience showers, fire pit and large hydro pool overlooking the beach. The new spa will be open to the public in 2026.

SImpsInns was also named ‘Ayrshire Hospitality Business of the Year’ at the 2023 Ayrshire Chamber Awards. In 2025 the company has just been named as a finalist in the ‘Family Business of the Year’ category at Scottish Licensed Trade News Awards (SLTN).
